Fund delivery you can audit
What it looks like. Funding a Kabakoo cohort buys a 16-week program of 200+ hours per learner, instrumented end to end: WhatsApp delivery data, a running A/B cadence, and outcome tracking.
A live example. Kabakoo is one of 7 organizations in the second cohort of the AI for Global Development Accelerator. The Agency Fund's senior behavioral scientist has independently replicated part of Kabakoo's findings. This is the kind of diligence we offer our funders to do.
You might already know the people who check our work. Kabakoo's board is chaired by the co-founder of the Agency Fund (Dr. Temina Madon, founding Executive Director of CEGA at UC Berkeley) and includes the founder of the AI Accountability Lab (Dr. Abeba Birhane, TIME100 AI). The behavioral instruments were built in conversation with Dr. Catherine Thomas (Michigan) and Dr. Richard Sedlmayr (Oxford).
The open opportunity. Mali's national upskilling program began enrollment in August 2026 under the Prime Minister's authority. The state brings public training facilities, state-agency trainers, and national airtime on ORTM; philanthropy funds the delivery engine that runs inside those channels.

Co-designing with the state, not selling to it
What it looks like. Kabakoo builds upskilling into delivery channels governments already run, under joint governance. The playbooks and datasets that come out are portable and openly shareable across geographies. The signed Mali convention is the working model.
Live examples. The MCENMA convention, signed 31 January 2026 in Bamako with Mali's Ministry for the Digital Economy, runs three years with a 12-member joint steering committee that evaluates results quarterly. Targets in the signed text: 5,000 youth by end-2026, 10,000 by December 2027, 20,000 in 2028, plus a minimum 10-hectare land commitment for a future Highdigenous eco-campus, and joint studies of digital's impact on the economy. In August 2026 the program went live under the authority of the Prime Minister, with the Minister's enrollment call recorded for national broadcast on ORTM and Kabakoo on the front page of L'Essor, the state-owned daily.
Delivered before that: a cohort for youth from Malian civil-society organizations with the EU Delegation, the D-CLIC program with OIF, and an 18-month digital transformation of the CFPM Missabougou, a major TVET center in Mali, with LuxDev, 300+ interactive videos and three digitized tracks, with the apps live.
Why governments open the door. The route into these mandates runs through the labs. They build both the expertise and the legitimacy we need to work with public and national bodies on upskilling programs rooted in local value chains.

Infrastructure for studies, not just stories
What it looks like. Kabakoo offers research partners a WhatsApp-native instrumented learning environment, a running A/B cadence on real product decisions, an anonymized 32-month panel with scripts and codebooks, and unusual data assets: clean Bamanankan audio and French–Bamanankan sentence pairs, plus learner voice corpora like the 5,691-submission Gender and Learning dataset. Pre-registered designs are welcome.
Live examples. The University of Paderborn has run the evaluation partnership since the pilot, including a randomized study built on Kabakoo's data. The University of Michigan's Dr. Catherine Thomas and Dr. Richard Sedlmayr shaped the behavioral index and mindset modules. A paper on Highdigenous pedagogy, built on 504 portfolio entries from 122 learners, is under review at the International Journal of Educational Development. On language AI, Kabakoo works closely with the AI Accountability Lab at Trinity College Dublin.
